New CDs
Recommendations from Winona
Hello everyone – Winona here, typing to you from the depths of the library known as Tech Services. I’m the new A/V cataloger here at Harper College, which means that I help create the records for CDs, audiobooks and DVDs so that you, the tech-savvy student, can easily locate them in the online catalog!
I thought I’d let everyone know about some great CDs that have just been added to our collection. Look for new and classic CDs from Bjork, Motorhead, Tom Waits, Elliott Smith, the Sex Pistols, the Shins, Fugazi, Beastie Boys, the White Stripes, the Misfits, the Mars Volta, Rise Against, Ani DiFranco, Nine Inch Nails, the Stooges, Queens of the Stone Age and the New York Dolls, as well as greatest hits collections from the Police, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Melissa Etheridge, Judas Priest, Iron Maiden and Jeff Buckley. Also included is “On the Transmigration of Souls,” a work for chorus and orchestra written by American composer John Adams in response to the September 11th terrorist attacks in New York City.
Please come “check out” these great CDs – and, as always, if you think of something that you feel the Harper College Library should own, please let a library staff member know.
Happy listening!~W

A big thanks to everyone who contributed to the Harper Library Holiday Children’s Book Drive. It was a HUGE success–we collected over 1500 books which were distributed to the District 214 Community Education Program and the Elk Grove Village Township. It is due to your generosity that children in our area will receive the gift of reading this holiday season.
Thank You,
The Harper Library Marketing Committee
