The Harper College Library is located in the heart of the college campus in the northwest Chicago suburb of Palatine, Illinois. During the regular semester the library is open:
Monday-Thursday 7:30 – 10:00 pm
Friday 7:30 – 4:30 pm
Saturday 9:00 – 3:30 pm
Sunday 1:00 – 5:00 pm
Reference librarians are on duty during most hours of operation for your research questions. Please feel free to stop at the reference desk for guidance in finding materials or in using the subscription databases. Also available for all students and employees of Harper College is the Ask a Librarian Reference Service. Questions will be replied to within 24 hours when classes are in session.
The library provides access to over 50 subscription databases for the research needs of our students. Additionally the Harper College Library is a member of the I-Share academic library consortium giving Harper students access to materials at over 70 academic libraries in Illinois.
Need to finish your research paper but can’t find an open computer in the library? The library has 12 laptop computers for student use within the library. Check at the Circulation desk on the first floor for details.
All students must have a valid Harper ID card to check out any materials. ID cards are available at the campus box office.
